When I open a new catalog, I’m not immediately drawn to florals. It seems I’m more of a sucker for cuddly animals. Yet, as I create cards for others, there are so many occasions when nothing works better than a beautiful flower. The Inspiring Iris stamp set is perfect for such occasions.
Sometimes lining up two-step stamps can be a bit tricky, but the free-flowing design of this set makes it super forgiving.
With stamps that are particularly difficult to line up, I find it can help to use the front of my stamp case to get everything facing the right direction, then I mark the top of my stamps with a permanent marker. When I’m stamping sometimes I put the outline stamp right beside me to help me keep my orientation straight.
I enjoyed using some of the other stamps to create different designs and looks. It’s amazing what you can do with one stamp set and three ink colors!
I decided to take this color combination one step further, and I thought I would issue a color challenge to you. I’d love to see what you can make using these colors. You can use ribbon, paper, embellishments, or anything really, to get these colors on your card, but they all have to be there. You can also add even more colors if you’d like.
These are a few of the cards I made with the same basic supplies, but I added some colored card stock, DSP, and/or a ribbon. I’d love to see what you come up with! Post pictures in the comments below, or send them to me via e-mail. I’m also curious. I’d also love to hear what you think of the color challenge? Would you like more? Do you like them with Simple Stamping Monday, or should I keep them separate?
