2020 Pantone Color of the Year

Each year Pantone releases a new “color of the year”. According to this article on Visme, the Pantone color of the year is very important to any industry that works with color, as much research goes into choosing this color. You will see it in fashion, marketing, art, and more. You’ll probably see this color pop up in crafting supplies as well.

2020 Pantone Color of the Year

This year, Pantone chose Classic Blue as their color of the year, stating

Imprinted in our psyches as a restful color, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit, offering refuge. Aiding concentration and bringing laser like clarity, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue re-centers our thoughts. A reflective blue tone, Classic Blue fosters resilience.

When I saw this color, I immediately thought of Blueberry Bushel and an old color Stampin’ Up! had called Dapper Denim. We don’t have Dapper Denim anymore, but Blueberry Bushel will be with us until June, so I figured I might as well make use of it!

I thought I would put together a few color swatches based on my Stampin’ Up! inks and supplies to go with this year’s color of the year. Feel free to take a look and incorporate some of these in your own projects.

These color combinations are taken from the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach. You can download the In Color Coach here and the Standard Colors here.
