As card makers, it’s very common for us to make more cards than we could possibly send out, yet we want our work to bring joy and encouragement to others. Why not partner with organization who can get your works of art into the hand that need them most? It is my hope to host card drives from time-to-time to support the organizations listed below, but don’t feel like you have to wait on me. Feel free to send your handmade creations any time of the year.

LFTE was started by 18-year-old Jacob in an effort to inspire others to connect with their elders and bridge pre-existing age barriers. LFTE has several programs including their Letters of Love program. Here’s a little bit about the program from the Love for the Elderly website:
Regardless of age, gender, or location, you have the power to bring joy to a senior citizen right now! Over 90% of senior citizens living in nursing facilities report feeling lonely, isolated, or even depressed. You can change this. Take a few minutes right now, sit down, and write a letter to an elder telling them about yourself, maybe say a joke or a riddle, and let them know that they are loved. Making a difference can be so simple, yet it can be incredibly impactful!
Letters of love is a fantastic way for you to encourage the elderly with your handmade cards. Write a personalized message, as if you were writing your own grandparent, and brighten the day of someone who may be quite lonely.
Children and card-makers of all abilities are invited to contribute. Click here for the guidelines for your handmade card and written message.
Each year thoughtfully assembled Military Spouse Care Packages are given to deserving military wives and husbands serving on the home front. Items in the care package may include Hallmark stationery, Hallmark notepads, shower gel, coffee, Stella & Dot jewelry, a book of inspiration, manicure sets, a deck of cards, and a handwritten thank you note letting the spouses know how special they are. A New Testament is always included. Our present day goal is simple; to provide each of the nearly 750,000 military spouses with a Military Spouse Care Package annually.
That’s a lot of hand-made thank you card, and notes of encouragement they need to support these families who give so much for us.
Children and carmakers of all abilities are invited to contribute. Click here for the Caring Card guidelines.
